Dates for Submitting
Letters of Intent Online**

Letters of Intent will only be accepted during these two months of the year.

February 1st through February 28th

Letters of Intent submitted during this period will be evaluated and considered for full applications to be reviewed in either our 3rd quarter meeting in July or our 4th quarter meeting held in October.

September 1st through September 30th

Letters of Intent submitted during this period will be evaluated and considered for full applications to be reviewed in either our 1st quarter meeting to be held in January or our 2nd quarter meeting to be held in April.

Grant Application Process

  1. Please include a summary of the project/program, amount requesting and the goals of the project/program. If we feel that your project/program fits within our guidelines and mission statement, we will send a grant application.

  2. Site visits may be set up prior to the Board Meeting. Remember, this is part of the review process and does not guarantee a grant.

  3. The foundation meets quarterly to review applications.

  4. Approved grants of $5,000 and up will be required to complete the online GRANT UPDATE FORM 9 months after grant is approved.

Grant Types

  • Program Development

  • Operational Expenses

  • Equipment and Building Renovation

  • Matching Funds

Grant Guidelines

  • Must be a 501 (c)(3) Tax Exempt organizations serving the Kansas City metropolitan area.

  • The maximum grants are $25,000.

  • Once an organization receives a grant, they must wait a full year before re-applying.

  • No grants will be made to political parties, agendas, or activities.

  • No grants will be made to organizations that provide services that target a specific religious sect, population, or agenda.

  • We do not fund multi-year grants.

  • We do not contribute to fundraisers and events.

  • We do not provide grants to individuals or social organizations.

  • We do not provide grants to other foundations or funding agencies.

  • We are not currently funding capital campaigns that have not met or exceeded 80% of their stated goal.

  • The Curry Family Foundation Application format must be followed.

Important Notes

  • If you are applying for operational expenses, please be very specific about how the funds will be used.

  • Additional information may be requested that is not listed on the grant application.

  • Review dates are subject to adjustment.

  • The Foundation will NOT provide funds to organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, creed, gender, national origin, disabilities, or sexual orientation.

Grant Updates

    The Curry Family Foundation asks that grant recipients submit a Grant Update Report. This will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of our grants and to keep us updated on the organization. If you have pictures of the project/program, you are welcome to include those. You may submit your update by using the online form here. Please call the office of the foundation if you have any questions.
